REFLECTIONS AND ASPIRATIONS FOR 2024 AND 2025
As we step into the exciting realm of the 2024 and 2025 wedding seasons, it's the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey of the past 10 months in the world of wedding filmmaking. In 2023, I took a leap of faith, transitioning from music video productions to the more personal and precious style of filming that encapsulates the magic of weddings. Little did I know, this shift would not only be rewarding but also lead to a place among the finalists of The Wedding Industry Awards (East Midlands) for Videography and Best New Comer.
Looking back, I find a deep sense of understanding—understanding the elements I love, the aspects that resonate with me, and recognising those that are best suited to others. One of the aspects that fuels my passion is meeting new couples. Learning about their unique stories, values, and the essence that surrounds their wedding day is an enriching experience. Each wedding, with its individuality, ultimately comes down to the personalities at its core.
The adrenaline rush on the day of capturing perishable memories is another facet that drew me to wedding filmmaking. In contrast to music productions, where multiple takes are the norm, a wedding provides only one chance to capture a fleeting moment—a first kiss, a tear of happiness during the ceremony. It's within these challenges that I thrive, embracing the spontaneity and raw emotions that make each wedding a truly singular event.
Transparency is a cornerstone of my service. Balancing this venture with a creative job in marketing, I consciously limit my commitments to an average of two weddings per month. This deliberate choice ensures a harmonious equilibrium between crafting wedding films, family life, and my responsibilities in the marketing world.
Editing, admittedly, is not my forte. Recognizing this, I've assembled a dedicated team of editors who excel in bringing the magic to life during post-production. This strategic collaboration is a win-win for couples. It allows me to focus on the joyous task of capturing the essence of your wedding day, before passing on the footage and an in-depth creative brief to my skilled editing team. They, in turn, transform the raw footage into the enchanting story of your magical day.
Understanding one's strengths and embracing a collaborative approach is key to delivering exceptional results.
